What is going on with this Website??
Micro Tech Museum initially will show Visual Music made by William Laziza and Collaborators. Featured new works will preview on the front page and get a separate page on the site. The plan is to add more pages as each session is documented. Over time, additional pageslinks to resources, collaborations and friends will be added to the site.
Some Videos have music and some do not. Where the piece is a product of collaboration with an artist, this is stated in the description of the individual piece. In other pieces, music is usually a component in the generation of the piece, and after reprocessing, the soundtrack can get distorted which can be fun or annoying. In many cases the music on the soundtrack may not be appropriate for your mood. In that case, mute your browser and play your own tunes on another device while watching the videos. There is a great deal of serendipity going on in human perception and Videos are fun to watch when the music works.
It is also possible for the viewer to change the playback speed from .5 to 2x if the trempo does not fit your sync.
Micro Tech Museum is based in a Video Edit Suite at Micro Museum in Brooklyn NY. The studio is equipped with a number of vintage computers, cameras, video switches, monitors and optical as well as digital image processing gear. The core of the vintage system is Analog NTSC CVBS. Output conversions are available up to 1080p. Recordings are made to SAN Disk in the desired format.
Micro Tech Museum has been recently formed to prolong the life of the video equipment that Micro Museum has used over the years in its projects.
The Studio equipment is configured for multiple source mixing in numerous configurations. Older vintage equipment has been reconfigured and augmented with HDMI converters. This website was started to document the process of building out the suite and to show some of the video that was created in the suite as well as the basement glitch workshop.
The Micro Tech Museum Website will also be used to as a portfolio to present and from time to time feature works from Micro Museum archive that are long buried on You Tube and Vimeo.
As a part of the Micro Museum Archival process, 2022 exhibits were moved out of the main Studio and VIP Room. The VIP room exhibits were packed for storage freeing up the room for the Micro Tech Museum to use to reconfigure the Videoscopo exhibit into a less formal Studio configuration, which in turn freed up space for the Laughing Clowns.
